Severe contraction in 2020 for cast iron and investment casting foundries, while steel foundries contain reduction. The total output for ferrous castings in 2020 was under 900,000 tons, a fall of -19.5% and a decrease of more than 216,000 tons compared to the previous year. The overall reduction in turnover was not quite as steep, at -16.1%. 2020 ended with a moderate decline for the steel castings segment (-3.1%), compared to the double-digit reductions seen in all other markets. The investment castings segment suffered most, losing around -32% of its volumes and -26% of turnover.
