The pandemic has not greatly influenced the digitalization and robotization already taking place up to 2019, automation and smart working will not mean workers disappear from factories. In the foundry world, the introduction of new automation technologies and artificial intelligence herald a fundamental shift in terms of safety, the lightening of employees’ workloads, the efficiency of the production process and quality control. However, advanced manufacturing requires increasing levels of training, this is the future of blue-collar workers in the fourth industrial revolution.
